Haskell Agency offers lease/rental services of farm land for absentee or retired owners.
We seek conscientious, qualified operators for the property. The owner can choose
the level of involvement desired. For example: choices of crop, whether or not to
participate in certain government programs, or simply to cash-rent the property under
clear rules with a professionally developed lease that addresses the important aspects
that should be of concern to any landlord. In most instances, clients have elected
to use our best judgment as to the best approach to address their needs. In any case,
the land under the agency's care is inspected several times a year and reports are
issued to cover the important developments, this is done at several degrees of detail
to suit the desires of the owners as to number, depth and contents of the reports.
Because of the high standards as far as operators are concerned, we allow them to
have a substantial degree of latitude with production decisions. This approach has
given good results under the short dry land farm conditions we are involved in, where
often times the window of opportunity is simply too narrow to permit ample consultations.
